One Day to Shoebill Swamp
Celebrate a Day with the Shoebill at Mabamba swamp.

Mabamba swamp is one of the 12 Ramsar site in Uganda which cover over 17,000 ha on the shores of Lake Victoria. It contains open water with a large open marsh of miscunthus and papyrus that makes the swamp high species rich including the globally threatened Shoebill This wetland is now designated as a wetland of international importance and an Important Bird Area (IBA). Mabamba Bay is home to a species list of over 300 birds.
Enjoy an exclusive birding experience for a day You may like to take out one of the kayaks in the swamp and treat yourself to sights of monitor lizards, otters and abundant bird life; over 300 species sited.
