Day 0: Arrival at Entebbe Airport, transfer to your hotel for refreshments and overnight stay

Day 1: Murchison Falls NP

Travel to Murchison Falls NP via the Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary to Rhino-tracking for a couple of hours. Later we continue and check in our hotel. ON: Murchison River lodge

Day 2: Game drive and boat ride on the Nile

We shall start very early today for a game drive for the whole morning in the Northern part of the park. We cross the river, lunch break at Murchison River lodge. In the afternoon, we aboard a boat cruise along the Nile up to the bottom of the falls. ON stay at : Murchison River lodge

Day 3: Travel to Kibale Forest National Park

It’s rather long journey that will most likely take most of the time today. We pay a visit to the top of the falls for a short walk before starting the journey to Kibale. This park is also famous for hosting the highest number of primates in Uganda (13 primate species) including Chimps, the Beautiful l’Hoest Monkey, black and white colobus monkeys, blue monkey etc.

O/N: Chimp GH – this is moderate accommodation and the best on this trip!

Day 4: Chimpanzee tracking in the morning, afternoon nature walk in Bigodi wetland

Wake up very early and drive to kanyanchu park headquarters. We assemble in the morning after our early morning breakfast, for briefing as we prepare for chimp tracking.

Day 5: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park

We start after breakfast, check out the lodge and transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park. We do the Crater Lake drive beginning at the Queen’s pavilion – Check out the CTPH pavilion lunch menu!. Continue up to katwe Salt Lake for a short tour.

O/N: Bush Lodge – lazy camping for 2 nights

Day 6: Game drive in the morning

This morning, after our breakfast, we will jump on our open-roof hatched van and follow one of the game viewing trails for our game drive; preferably the Kasenyi trail.

In the afternoon, we shall do a launch cruise along the Kazinga channel.

Day 7: Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest NP

Today we shall start, carry packed lunch for a rather long journey on a rough road to Bwindi area, passing through the Ishasha sector of the park (southern distant segment of Queen Elizabeth National Park), famed for the tree climbing lions. We shall do another game drive here, have picnic lunch and later continue to Bwindi. Arrival at our Lodge will be late this evening.

Day 8: Gorilla tracking

After breakfast we assemble at the park headquarters for briefing for our day’s activity; gorilla tracking. For those who have done this activity before, it is by far rated as number one wilderness experience in the whole world. The Bwindi forest alone hosts more than half of the total world population of the mountain gorillas; the rest being shared among Rwanda and DR Congo. We shall be guided by the trackers who are very knowledgeable at finding these apes. There are several other primate species in the forest including the beautiful l’Hoest monkey, blue, black and white colobus, etc.

If you are successful early enough today, we pay a visit to the CTPH Research Clinic, plus other community projects under the organization.

Note: to consider this activity, one MUST be in reasonably good health. It involves very challenging and strenuous hikes in the impenetrable forest with rugged terrain!

Day 9: Travel to L. Mburo NP

We shall today travel to L. Mburo National Park; lunch stop in Kabale town we arrive in L. Mburo in the evening.

Day 10: L. Mburo National Park

Today we shall take a walk in the woods for the whole morning, and spend the rest of the day on a game drive. We shall have a siesta in between the day’s activities.

Day 11 : Transfer to Kampala/Entebbe for your flight conection
