Gorilla Beringei Tour 3 Days

Eastern gorilla (Gorilla beringei) is a species of the genus Gorilla and the largest living Ape. Tthe species is subdivided into two subspecies. The eastern lowland gorilla (G. b. graueri) is the most populous, at about 5,000 individuals. The mountain gorilla (G. b. beringei) has about 800 individuals. In addition, scientists are considering elevating the Bwindi Impenetrable Forest gorilla population (which numbers about half of the mountain gorilla population) to the rank of subspecies.

Program

Day 1: Pick up from your Hotel either in Kampala or Entebbe and drive to Bwindi impenetrable National Park.

Day 2: Gorilla trekking day

Day 3:After breakfast, start on the long drive back to Entebbe / Kampala

Day 1: Entebbe/Kampala – Bwindi impenetrable National Park

pickup from your Hotel after breakfast and drive to Bwindi Impenetrable forest in south Western Uganda. This is a long day drive (approx – 9 hours) with lunch stop over en-route at igongo cultural center en route. the drive takes you through savannah forests, tropical rain forests, and the terraced hills of Kigezi famously known as the Switzerland of East Africa. Reach Bwindi by late afternoon. Dinner and overnight at theOvernight at Mahogany Springs Lodge/ Gorilla Forest Camp/ Gorilla mist Camp.

Day 2: Gorilla Tracking Adventure

After an early morning breakfast, your safari driver helps organize packed lunch boxes then drives/escorts you to the park offices. Here you may be joined by other tourists to receive a briefing from the park warden or head ranger on the dos and don’t during gorilla trekking before you begin your Trek. Bwindi currently has 10 habituated gorilla families and each gorilla family is visited by a maximum of Eight (8) tourists a day so you may be joined by other people on the trek. You then begin your adventure into the gorilla sanctuary. The time taken (1- 8 hours) vary according to the movement of these gentle giants and the terrain. Gorilla trekking takes between less than an hour to 7 hours before encounter depending on the terrain. You are then allowed one hour with the gorillas before trekking back.In the evening you may relax at the lodge or go for a community walk where you will be entertained in some of the cultural dance of the Batwa communityOvernight at Mahogany Springs Lodge/ Gorilla Forest Camp/ Gorilla Mist Camp BLD

Day 3: we drive back to Kampala

After breakfast transfer to Kampala / Entebbe making a stopover at the Equator Line for a photographic moment, craft and boutique shopping. Later proceed to your accommodation or Entebbe International Airport for your onward flight connections .
